Adam Curner, 2/29/1997- 11/31/2005
The first american child murdered for multiple premeditated manslaughter.
I first heard of adam when a guy came into the shop looking for an apprenticeship/job at the tattoo shop i was working at. He only had a flash drive full of random folders, some of them filled with random media and some of them filled with his art portfolio. We're talking and i start dragging the folders off to check out his portfolio at a later time and end up grabbing some other folders by accident. He leaves and i continue throughout the day with my appointments. That night I open up the folders looking through some art school style paintings and drawings. I eventually stumble upon a folder that i had stolen on accident. It contains only one movie file "adamcurner.mov". I open it.
Its an amatuer video... old VHS style. Its pointed directly at an in ground jacuzzi which seems to be in the corner of a very large tiled bathroom. The back edge of the jacuzzi seems to be lined with some form of thick peach material which looks like pig skin, like when you see drained pigs hanging in a meat freezer. the jacuzzi is running softly and you can see what looks to be a mixture of oily fat and blood rolling across the top of the water, and what appears to be person at the bottom of it moving around. Eventually the body surfaces and you realize its quite decayed. Theres shuffling behind the camera and the view gets more and more cloudy due to condensation building on the lens from the warm jacuzzi. What looks like a young boy comes into frame nude, steps slowly into the water. You can hear humming and bits of singing. Despite his age and lack of muscles he can easily move the disembowled body out of his way. other extremities start to show themselves and he lifts the body to show the camera, speaking in loud rhymes i cant even remember. I feel sick and shut off the video.
Years later I've snuck into a small theatre which is showing a short indie documentary on the case of a boy named Adam Curner. The short video i had seen shows its face multiple times during the video. Also the movie is laden with drawings by adam off single linework cartoon with lesions on their faces. The images instantly played psychedelic shapes and waves which took over all i could see, lesions turning into amoebas and dripping down my eyes like that slick cloud that gets in the way you cant blink out. The movie informs me that in school when asked about what he wanted to be when he grew up he replied "i want to smash up meat, and put it in a can for people to eat"..
On the night of 11/28/2005 Adam Curner murdered both of his parents with a kitchen knife, disembowling them and putting the remains in a jacuzzi. He stayed within the house cannibalizing on their bodies as they softened in the water. On 11/31/2005 Adam was killed by a neighbor entering the house after hearing no response from the family for days. The neighbors actions were based on self defense.
